Although a bridal shower can be fun for the bride, it can be hard for her to really let loose in front of relatives such as her grandmother. A bridal shower tends to be more proper and formal, while a bachelorette party is a time for the bride and her friends to hang out and party. A bachelorette party (aka hen party) is the female version of the male bachelor party. With all of the stress of planning a wedding, a bachelorette party gives the bride a chance to relax and have a girls night out.

As with bachelor parties, it is not uncommon for there to be strippers or other “adult entertainment” at a bachelorette party, but some brides may not want this type of “exotic” entertainment, but that’s ok. There are many different things that a bride and her friends for her bachelorette party:

☆Go to a bar: Take the bride out to her favorite bar and spend the night talking and reminiscing with the girls!

☆ Go to a club: This does not necessarily mean a strip club. You can simply take the bride out to her favorite dance club and spend the night dancing, drinking, and having fun.

☆ A day at the spa: Take the bride out to a spa and spend the day getting pampered.

☆ Hang out at home: It is perfectly ok to have a bachelorette party at someone’s house. You can make mixed drinks and play different bachelorette games or even watch a movie.

☆ Dinner and a movie: Go out to a nice restaurant and go to see a movie or play afterwards.

☆ Go to a vineyard or winery: If the bride loves wine, why not take her out for some wine tasting?

☆If you do not know what to do for the bachelorette party, ask the bride what she wants to do. This is her time to celebrate. Here are a few other tips for having a great bachelorette party:

1. Only invite a small group of people such as the bride’s closest friends.

2. Do not have the bachelorette party the night before the wedding. If you do too much partying, the bride will regret that the next day.

3. Don’t do anything that the bride will regret or would be harmful to her relationship with the groom.

4. If you plan on drinking, make sure you have a designated driver or other form of transportation to get home.

There are lots of different bachelorette party ideas out there. It's up to you to decide what will be the most fun night out for the bride and all your friends. It is also acceptable to bring gifts to a bachelorette party if you feel the need. It's quite common for the bride's friends to bring gag gifts to a bachelorette party.
